The Mysterium
To the seekers of the strange and the friends of the freakish: The Mysterium Theater opens its doors on October 16th in a haunted corner of old Alameda. This is an invitation to a wild and delightful celebration of the supernatural. An opportunity to experience the strangest excitements and test the boundaries of consciousness.
The performance is a remarkable blend of illusion, imagination, and sorcery: Mysterium is ancient magical theater: Conjuring skill honed over decades, producing timeless moments, evoking another world.
Fireflies flicker, spirits whisper and spectral visions abound as mystical dreams-capes spring to life. Inspired by the shaman's journey to a place where the natural and supernatural worlds intersect, the show is a tightly woven tapestry of surreal beauty and mind bending impossibilities. Every element of the show has been painstakingly handcrafted over a decade. Illusion flourishes through a unique combination of disciplines & mediums: sleight of hand, robotics, misdirection, and movement-interactive stroboscopic lighting.
An experience of astonishment is co-created with the audience. They are involved in every one of the spectacles. The Mysterium lures its audience into a dream like trance where anything is possible and much of it is realized. Prepare for an encounter with the wholly other. An experience that will reawaken the mystical, and leave you electrified.
