We are delighted to announce that the 24th of September sees the Roxy playing host to the only Scottish date on the Asian Music Circuit's tour: Festival of Afghanistan - Music from Herat. Even during the Taliban ban on music-making in the late 1990's Herati people were defiant, taking great risks to gather in secret to play music. Today, in an Afghanistan that is slowly recovering from three decades of conflict and destruction, Herat is nationally recognised as a pre-eminent fount of creativity in literature, music and the visual arts.
