The Reads plus Support.
FatPigeonLive presents The Reads and Introducing Lydia O'Dowd.
Yes, here for a special one off gig, live in Audlem's World Famous Scout & Guide Hall venue, and if you want to be part of this intimate performance read on. The Reads have been a part of the Audlem Festival music scene for a few years, bringing their own laid back selves to conjure up moments of Ambient-electro-folk-rock, an eclectic mix, within a festival of eclectic sounds.
The Reads sound is a mix of the bands personalities, everyone adds to the ever growing intricacies that create waves of warm vibes for creative lyrics and melodies to ride on, drawing you in to the understated but distinctive vocals of front man Stuart Bennett. From story telling at its best to lyrical humour this band will keep you in their spell.
The Reads are Marcel Delrue, Jamie Russell, Stuart Bennett, Clare Stevenson, Matty Goddard and Chris Goddard and often accompanied by Clare 'Fluff' Smith with her fiddle.
Their second album Lost at Sea is a creative evolution from Stories from the Borders album, and singles Spitting Feathers and Scarlet are not shy from appearing on the radio waves of BBC radio 2, Radio Wales and Radio Merseyside to name a few, Janice Long, for one, is a long time fan of their music.
This gig here in Audlem is a run up to their appearing with Finley Quaye at the Live Rooms in Chester on April 10th. The FatPigeonLive event will be filmed and recorded live, and you can be part of that audience, think Jools Holland with a slice of the Old Grey Whistle test and a touch of TFI Friday. Tickets are limited and it will be standing only.
