Kristin Hersh: on Rat Girl, music and mental illness hosted by Elizabeth Wurtzel
In her memoir "Rat Girl," Kristin Hersh--front woman for seminal indie-rock bands Throwing Muses and 50ft Wave, as well as a breathtaking solo musician--writes brilliantly and truthfully about her band's rise to success as she discovered her own bipolar disorder. Raw, honest and tangled, there have been few written works published which so artfully detail life with mental illness, and Hersh's unique lens and razor-sharp wit color Rat Girl as essential for fans of powerful writing as it is for fans of Hersh's music.
In this incredible evening, Hersh will discuss with Elizabeth Wurtzel, acclaimed author of illness memoir "Prozac Nation," the intricacies of writing about a topic as subjective and personal as mental illness. Hersh will also discuss her music, and will perform various selections of songs that inform the time period of her life written about in "Rat Girl."
Do not miss this absolutely stunning evening with two modern artistic legends.
Kristin Hersh: on Rat Girl is presented by Russ Marshalek/RussComm.
