Historic Berwyn's Bungalow Tour
Berwyn Train Depot Berwyn, IL
The Berwyn Historical Society announces the 4th annual Historic Berwyn's Bungalow Tour, "Bungalows and More," to be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010, from 12 noon until 5 pm.
Berwyn, a hidden gem of a town, is located just 9 miles southwest of Chicago's Loop and boasts one of the largest concentrations of Chicago-style bungalow homes in the U.S.
Tour-goers will learn the history of each home on the tour, while gaining valuable ideas and insight for restoring and maintaining their own vintage homes.
The 2010 tour's homes are located in the vicinity of Berwyn's Historic Depot District. Participants may walk and/or drive between houses that are stops on the tour.
The 2010 tour highlights will include a distinguished prairie style house, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as a Frank Lloyd Wright American System-Built house.
All proceeds benefit the Berwyn Historical Society.
Note: Registration is at the Berwyn train station between Oak Park and Grove. You may also reach the station via the Metra BNSF line and get off at the Berwyn station.
