(FEDERAL HILL, BALTIMORE, MD) Megan Ihnen, mezzo-soprano, in conjunction with BE art events will hold the November Open House for The Federal Hill Parlor Series on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. This special event will take place in the intimate gallery of Jordan Faye Contemporary located at 1401 Light St. The November Open House will feature Jacqueline Pollauf, harp, and Megan Ihnen, voice. Hors d'ouevres and champagne will be provided. Pollauf and Ihnen will feature works by Manuel de Falla, David Watkins, and Peabody professor and composer, Judah Adashi.

The Federal Hill Parlor Series is dedicated to bringing quality music into the actual homes of this prized neighborhood. Each concert is hosted by a resident of the community who has an interest in fostering fellowship and is committed to increasing the presence and caliber of the arts in Baltimore City. Hosts choose the date and time of the recital, and if they wish to become further involved in the artistic process, may also participate in choosing the musical program.

Megan Ihnen is an American mezzo-soprano, best known for her scintillating voice and innovative collaborations. Megan is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory with a Masters of Music in Voice Performance. She is also a recipient of the illustrious Phyllis Bryn-Julson Award for Excellence in and Commitment to 20th/21st Vocal Music. Read more about Megan by visiting her website: www.meganihnen.com

Jacqueline Pollauf made her solo debut at age sixteen with the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra. She has since made solo appearances with many orchestras including the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. In demand as a recitalist, her numerous performances include concerts given at the Academy Art Museum of Easton, Maryland; the Homewood Museum of Johns Hopkins University; and the University of Baltimore. Jacqueline's debut solo album, Bouquet, was released in 2009.

Jordan Faye Block is owner of BE & Jordan Faye Contemporary, a unique, 2700 square foot mixed-use exhibition space and event venue. Curator and art impresario, Jordan Faye Block received her MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 2006, Ms. Block launched Jordan Faye Contemporary, whose mission was and still is to expose the engaging and thought-provoking work of dozens of artists to a larger community.   In September 2009, Jordan Faye Contemporary moved into its permanent home in Federal Hill at 1401 Light Street Baltimore, MD. This historic building was once one of the four original Enoch Pratt Library neighborhood branches (1886-1971).  Ms. Block's second business has been gaining momentum in Baltimore and is closing on its first year at the new location. This new endeavor aptly named BE (Block Events) was launched in November 2009 to support her passion for promoting all arts through events for both the greater community & the artistic community. The Salon Series, The New Mercury Reading Series, & The Federal Hill Parlor Series are all a part of what BE & Jordan Faye Contemporary work in unison to promote.
