Frankenstein: The Trouble Puppet Show
Salvage Vanguard Theatre Austin, TX
Trouble Puppet Theater Co., the Austin puppet troupe that received critical acclaim for The Jungle in 2009, performs their adaptation of the Frankenstein story (for grownups) at Salvage Vanguard Theater Sept. 16-Oct. 3, 2010, Thursdays through Sundays at 8:00 pm. Puppet design and direction by TPTC Artistic Director Connor Hopkins. Original music by Justin Sherburn.
Frankenstein: The Trouble Puppet Show is a dark, funny, smart, spooky work of puppet theater, adapted from Mary Shelley's classic novel by Trouble Puppet Artistic Director, Connor Hopkins. Influenced by the vast array of previous adaptations, and incorporating a mix of history and natural philosophy, Trouble Puppet spins a tale of steampunk science that escapes from an abandoned Romanian asylum and chases all the way to the French Revolution.
Note: ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation will be provided at the 9/23 and 9/30 shows.
The show is created for grownups. Mature teenagers admitted with adults.
