Dust off those bullhorns.  Get those signs ready!  We are going to march arm-in-arm with President Obama and some of the living legends of the Civil Rights Movement.

For 3 years, we've rallied 25,000 women and girls to walk for healing and to reclaim the streets of our neighborhoods.  We've logged over a million miles, but none of them will be as historically significant as the steps we will take together this March.  We're expecting 500 of our best trekkers, volunteers, church leaders and campus organizers to show up and show out for Black women's health.  So get on the bus!  

GirlTrek is chartering 10 buses, from 10 cities, for a weekend turnaround trip, leaving March 6th or 7th (depending on your city) and returning March 8th.  We'll get you there for FREE from  Memphis, New Orleans, Jackson, Atlanta, Chattanooga, St. Louis, Washington DC, Chicago, Detroit and Birmingham!

The buses will depart each city headed south to the GirlTrek meet up spot - Birmingham, Alabama. There you will be greeted by the smiling faces and warm hugs of hundreds of other trekkers arriving from around the country. Saturday night in Birmingham it's the GirlTrek party to end all parties!!!  THEN, bright and early on Sunday we will all caravan in GirlTrek buses to Selma to pay our respects to those who marched before us.  The tribute march begins at 2:30pm on Sunday March 8th.  All buses will depart to their home cities that evening.

Picture it.  500 strong in superhero blue shirts - front and center in the reenactment of the iconic walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge! This is a can't miss event!  Mark your calendars and read the details below carefully to guarantee your seat on the bus.  Seats are VERY limited!

Overview:

Friday March 6th at 1PM: Buses depart from Washington DC, Detroit, Chicago and St. Louis to Birmingham, AL.

Saturday March 7th at 9AM: Buses depart from New Orleans, Memphis, Chattanooga, Jackson and Atlanta to Birmingham, AL.

Sunday, March 8th: The GirlTrek caravan - including Birmingham trekkers -  will depart for Selma, AL.

All buses will depart Sunday evening headed back to your home state. We'll have you back home on Monday morning in time for work!

*Lodging! Hotel registration will open on Tuesday, February 10th. We've literally reserved the LAST block of hotel rooms within a 200-mile radius of Selma. Participants on the Friday buses will have a room for two nights. Participants on the Saturday buses will have a room for one night. Room cost will be $50 per person, per night + taxes.  All participants will be required to bunk with two other trekkers. Don't worry! You can pick your roommates or we'll help you find roommates. Just remember, the dedicated activist whose lives we honor camped out each night in open fields without fancy camping equipment, warm showers or hot meals. We can certainly make it happen in a plush hotel!

Excited? Got all the details? Good! Book your seat NOW. They will go fast! Once your seat is confirmed it can not be transferred to another name or switched to another bus. We can also not accommodate request for refunds on the $35 swag bag fee.

***Please note: You can only register for one seat on the bus. Each person must register with their full name. If you are traveling with your daughter or other family members, you will have to register each individual person separately.

***Please note: Because of the shared lodging we can not accommodate men/boys on the bus.
