Ashtanga Yoga New York (AYNY) is extremely happy to announce that Saraswathi Rangaswamy will be teaching one week of Ashtanga Yoga classes in New York City from September 8 - September 12, 2010. Please note that classes on 9/8 and 9/12 will be led classes, and the classes on 9/9, 9/10 and 9/11 will be Mysore style. Additionally, September 11 is Saraswathi's 69th birthday, and we will celebrate by throwing a birthday party for her at 7 pm, at AYNY, 430 Broome St., 2nd floor.

Class times:
9/8: 3:45 - 5:45 pm
9/9: 4:00 - 6:00 pm
*9/10: 3:45 - 5:45 pm (originally scheduled for 4:00 - 6:00)
9/11: 5:00 - 7:00 pm
9/12: 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Location: All classes will be held at YogaWorks SoHo @ 459 Broadway.

As the daughter of the late Ashtanga Yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Saraswathi began practicing yoga at the age of five. She is a pioneer for women in the Ashtanga yoga tradition and was the first woman to teach coed yoga classes in Mysore, India, where she has been teaching yoga since 1967. Saraswathi currently teaches daily classes in Mysore with her son Sharath, maintaining the tradition of yoga and methods of her father, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

Note: *All levels and ages are welcome to attend led classes (9/8 and 9/12). Please register for Mysore classes only if you already have a Mysore Ashtanga practice.* To register for the entire workshop ($200), please select the second September 8 workshop icon above. Thank you!
