FIRE! NEW PLAY FESTIVAL 2010
Freedom Train Prods // BAAD! Brooklyn // Bronx, NY
Produced by Freedom Train Productions, FIRE! NEW PLAY FESTIVAL 2010 presents staged reading and barebones productions of new black queer plays that offer darkness and danger and, yes, a little artfulness and hope for these bleak post-Bush times.
Note: FIRE! kicks off with a barebones production of Jerome A. Parker's ORIGINS OF US on Sat, July 17th at 230PM and 730PM in collaboration with Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance at 841 Barretto Street in the Bronx; and the festival moves to Brooklyn with readings of LaTonia Phipp's SHE WHO STRUGGLES on Thurs, July 22 at 730PM; Azure D. Osborne-Lee's MIRRORS on Fri, July 23 at 730PM; and Steve Harper's BLACK/OUT STORIES on Sat, July 24 at 230PM at 138 South Oxford Street in Fort Greene.
