STILL LIFE a new collective creation
Our company of artists came together to explore personal stories of identity, as well as to investigate larger issues of violence in our city, as Toronto is a place where homophobia is still a threat.
The play centres around a group of twenty-somethings in Toronto dealing with the sudden loss of a friend and lover. Told through a series of photographic moments, the piece uses memory to investigate how a traumatic event affects those who are left behind.
Still Life will be performed inside the Auditorium of The 519, a minimalist presentation by lamplight, allowing for intimacy as the play weaves realistic scenes with abstract movement, delicately revealing the lives of the characters in the heart of our city.
