INTERWOVEN: Evenings in Performance
INTERWOVEN will host two evenings of performance, film and conversation in the beautiful and historic setting of The Textile Museum on July 23 and 24.
Program: July 23rd - 7:30pm Doors open / 8pm Peggy Noland / 8:45pm threeASFOUR / 9:30pm Q&A
July 24th - 7:30pm Doors open / 8pm Peggy Noland / 8:30pm Vibskov & Emenius / 9:30pm Q&A
On the evening of July 23, New York-based fashion collective threeasFOUR, whose designers hail from Lebanon, Israel and Tajikistan will collaborate on a performance highlighting their ethereal and sculptural approach to textile design. Their work has been shown in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Deitch Projects NY, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome. Their avant-garde collections are a vital fixture of New York Fashion Week.
The July 24 program will feature a new work by Copenhagen-based duo Henrik Vibskov & Andreas Emenius: 'The Circular Series, Section 4' is an original site-specific performance based on human rituals, the constructions we build and social isolation.
Following the performances, author and artist Sabrina Gschwandtner, founder of KnitKnit magazine, will moderate open discussions with the artists.
The evening events will also feature film screenings such as Vibskov & Emenius' Project 8 and Project 9; threeasFOUR's video collaboration with Yoko Ono; Polish-born artist Olek's film 'Attempting the Impossible' with Naomi White, featuring crocheted videotape; and many others.
ONLINE TICKETING IS AVAILABLE UNTIL 4 PM ON THE EVENT DATE. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door each evening. You may also order by phone by calling 202-667-0441 x 78.
