The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Ballard Underground Seattle, WA
Playing at the Ballard Underground July 14-August 15, Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Featuring a score by William Finn (who wrote Contemporary Classics 2007 show A New Brain), the Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. Co-Produced with RK Productions, the producers of the hit Seattle premiere production of REEFER MADNESS, SPELLING BEE will be a hilarious and charming break from the summer heat.
