Prairie in Chicago (47th St. Green Line Stop) for a Black Music Month family-friendly concert celebration of gospelâs roots and hear multi-talented Chicago native T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh (In Living Color/Cosby/Thatâs So Raven) sing the songs of ...Gospelâs Original Diva!

Best known as a series regular on Foxâs Emmy Award-winning sketch variety show, In Living Color, CBSâ hit, COSBY, and Disneyâs internationally popular Thatâs So Raven, Keymáh was first known to Chicago audiences for playing Dinah Washington in ETAâs long-running review, The Regal Theater and capturing the title of Miss Black Illinois with singing impressions of Nell Carter, Nancy Wilson and Billie Holiday. She also sang with Chicagoâs Singsation and is a former member of the Najwa Dance Corps. Also appearing in the concert are: Jeffery Eubanks, Traci Mason, Natalie McKnight, Tyrone Merriweather, Judith Powell, Willa Rogers, Sharon Sallis, Debbie Smith, and Karen Walker of the Carter Family Choir and Jack Yates. Yates appeared on the DVD âBobby Jones Live in Italyâ and with the Grammy nominated James Grier and Company. His new solo debut CD is called, 'The Journal of Jack Yates."
T'Keyah Crystal Keymah Salutes Gospel's Original Diva is the latest musical collaboration between Keymáh and Mason who first worked together on a concert of Masonâs original music more than twenty years ago. Mason is the author and publisher of several books, including "Saints in the Land of Lincoln" (which has been called "Gospel Music 101"). He is also a gifted singer / songwriter, and a radio personality whose voice has been heard on radio and television since 1976. The founder of Faithday Press, Mason most recently co-authored Christian Tabernacle Pastor Maceo L. Woodsâ new biography, âA Graceful Journey.â
