Pho For The Soul
PHO FOR THE SOUL is a full evening of theatrical tales featuring 2 shows"Tales Of Laos" & "Lies My Farther Told Me". The former title by KP Phagnasay and the latter by Marcel Nunis. Drawing upon the oral traditions from the cultures they grew up with, these shows celebrate the fantastical within the ordinary.
"Tales of Laos" journeys through the Land of the Million Elephants through the eyes of a Lao-American. His boyhood memories of haunted tales, good deeds, and a trickster, who out wits the King. A cultural connection between a father and son.
"Lies My Father Told Me" re-spins the yarns that Marcel's father, Harold first told him as a child growing up in Malaysia. The show premiered at the 2006 Rogue Festival to both critical and box-office success. It has since been retooled to include "live soundtracking" with the talents of Johnnie McCorvey on guitar.

This is a joint production between KP Actors Gym & Theatre J'Nerique and will be presented at Fresno's newest performance venue THE BROKEN LEG STAGE, 1470 N. Van Ness Ave.
