Kala's 2010 Lecture Series: Dan Cameron
Kala Art Institute Berkeley, CA
The Artist in the World: Strategies of Engagement: The Kala gallery's series of lectures by internationally acclaimed artists and curators began in February with a panel discussion presented in conjunction with Newton and Helen Mayer Harrison's Force Majeure exhibition. The series continues with this lecture by Dan Cameron.
Internationally renowned curator Dan Cameron will join the series to discuss Prospect 1, the international biennial he organized in post-Katrina New Orleans. Prospect 1 focused on the transformative power of art and political activism and became the largest biennial ever staged in the United States. Dan has organized numerous international biennial exhibitions in addition to serving as Senior Curator at the New Museum in New York for many years.
The Kala 2010 Lecture Series is sponsored by Bayer USA Foundation.
