Chef Nordo Lefesczki and the madcap creative team at Cafe Nordo proudly return to Seattle with Bounty! An Epic Adventure in Seafood. Embark on an odyssey of invertebrates, mollusks, fish, and mischief on the Salish Seas.
Once again, Cafe Nordo transforms the south end of Theo Chocolate; this time into an intimate restaurant on an old sailing vessel where folklore and science merge into a five course prix fixe celebration of the fruits of our seas. Chef Nordo's menu journeys from the Big Bang amuse bouche through the Sea Urchin, Dungeness Crab, Oysters, Squid, and Copper River Salmon, highlighting all of the local and sustainable gifts of the waters around Seattle. Original music and performance are the wind and waves in this evocation of a sailor's love for the ocean.
Last fall, Seattle diners were stunned and delighted by Chef Nordo Lefesczki's Northwest debut, The Modern American Chicken. Chef Nordo's collaboration with Seattle's Circus Contraption veterans, (writer Terry Podgorski, director Erin Brindley, and composer Annastasia Workman,) amounted to a revolution in culinary theater. Delicious and thought- provoking food took center stage as the lead character in an interactive theatrical experience. Bounty! An Epic Adventure in Seafood takes the new genre to new heights. South Pacific meets The Blue Planet meets The Flying Fish, all lovingly crafted for our Seattle audience.
As always Chef Nordo's menu is what it is; there will be no substitutions for lily-livered algae-eaters. Perhaps these seaweed-minded guests can guzzle away their fear: Nordo ensures that every meal is an opportunity for transcendence, accompanied as it is by a wine flight conceived and procured by Vino Verite. Concerned citizens can leave their Monterey Bay Aquarium wallet insert at home, as local and sustainable seafood is at the very heart of this love letter to the sea.
