MERCURY FUR
Written by Philip Ridley
Set in a post-apocalyptic version of the East End of London, MERCURY FUR follows a group of troubled youths surviving by their wits. Violence, chaos, and drugs in the form of butterflies rule in this lawless, ravaged city. Two sisters, Ellia and Darra, realize their clients' darkest fantasies. As the light fades and events spiral out of control, it becomes clear that the success of this particular party will guarantee not just their safety but their salvation.
The world is at its worst...Let the party begin!
First staged in Plymouth, England in 2005 before moving to London, MERCURY FUR has since been performed all around the world. It is the fifth stage play of its author and is considered his most controversial.
