Arabic Cooking and Baking Series: Sambusa: Flavors of Yemen Part I
In this series, participants will be invited on a hands-on culinary journey through the Arab world, discovering the history, culture, and science behind some of the Arab world's most essential dishes and seizing the opportunity to produce them with your own hands. Taking us from the gulf, to North Africa, to the Levant, in this session, participants will explore the diverse legendary cuisines of Yemen, Tunisia, and Lebanon.
In this class, participants will learn how to make an essential Yemeni appetizer: the Yemeni sambusa, or samosa, a delicious savory pastry filled with vegetables and/or meat and accompanied with flavorful chutneys. In this class, we'll make both veggie and meat options so there's something for everyone to enjoy! Sambusas make the perfect party appetizer or a delicious snack for yourself and the whole family. Learn how to make these scrumptious doughy pastries with hands-on guidance with Yemeni instructor Hanan Albar!
