Blown Away revamps a handful of timeless folk tales into a hilarious and uplifting original play. The story follows a character known as "The Stranger" as hes forced into a storm in search of a story to trade for a nights lodging. He is literally blown away into a mind-spinning series of interlocking mini-misadventures. Performed by a cast of 32 ever-changing players, Blown Away mixes a modern version of the ancient Greek's choral speaking with comedy and romance.
Much like hip-hop musicians borrow samples from earlier brilliant works to combine with their own original melodies, the script co-opts elements of the centuries-old Romanian classic, The Enchanted Pig. Using this tale as the central riff and bass line, Blown Away cleverly creates a back-story for the title character. The play examines how The Stranger becomes a pig and the pursued quarry of his reluctant bride.

Blown Away explodes the oppressive fairy tale thinking about true love that holds many of us back from enjoying the truly attainable reality of romance.
