LEVYdance Presents: Everyone Intimate Alone Visibly

Join LEVYdance in an exploration of instant-access communications as both moderator and interference in human connectivity. This evening-length duet features Benjamin Levy and Aline Wachsmuth performing in the round amidst a multimedia installation and multi-layered sonic environment. Move with the dancers through a web camera hot-zone where movement is captured to trigger animations and projections, blurring the line between participant and observer.

LEVYdance is collaborating with new media artist Mary Franck, composer Jeremy Zuckerman, writer Lucy Corin and lighting designer Lucas Krech to create the landscape of the piece. This full length performance will be viewed from all sides, with the audience surrounding the performers.

Franck uses web cameras to create a performance space "hot zone" where movements, colors, and shapes are captured. These elements trigger the projection of animations, video, and lighting effects that respond to the choreography and audience in real time.

Zuckerman has created a multi-layered sonic environment by processing his extended vocal palette with an original audio manipulation program. The score and movement are in conversation as the weight, speed, attack, and emotional tenor of the movements and sounds interact. The result is an active space where the music and dance are equal players.

Note: ***Opening Night VIP Admission includes post-performance backstage tour, artist Q&A and VIP reception with wine and hors d'oeuvres. There will also be a post-performance artist Q&A after the 10pm performance on April 2. This performance is interactive, and the audience will be moving and walking through the space.
