Spring Into Comedy! Presented by the Indo-American Heritage Museum
The Indo-American Heritage Museum invites you to an evening of laughter by showcasing some of the finest comedians of South Asian heritage. Headliner Vidur Kapur will take the stage at IITs Hermann Hall on April 18th. Shazia Mirza and Dan Nainan will kick things off in what is sure to be an unforgettable evening! Doors open at 4:30pm. All proceeds will benefit the Indo-American Heritage Museum.
Tickets are priced from $40 - $95 per person; special student discount tickets available for $25.
Vidur Kapur was nominated in 08 for a "NewNowNext" Award by MTV Network's Logo as "Brink of Fame: Comic". He is one of the top three booked acts on US college campuses for 08-'09 and was selected as a New York finalist by NBC's "Stand Up for Diversity" initiative and performed as part of the famous New York Comedy Festival where he was described as "a comedian to remember." Vidur was selected as one of the top four Asian comics in North America to perform at the world famous "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival in Montreal in July 2006.
Shazia Mirza is an international Award Winning British Muslim Stand-up Comedian. She has been profiled on CBS 60 minutes, Oprah Winfrey's Oxygen Channel, and a semi-finalist in NBC's Last Comic Standing.
Dan Nainan is an American comedian of Indian and Japanese origin. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Nainan has performed at the Democratic National Convention in Denver and at three inaugural events in Washington.
The Indo-American Heritage Museum (IAHM) is dedicated to increasing awareness and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Indian Americans and showcasing their outstanding contributions to the building of America. The IAHM is a community-based and inclusive institution, a place where visitors can better understand and experience the rich cultural heritage, fascinating immigrant history and important contemporary developments that shape the lives of millions of Americans of Indian origin.
