The forthcoming Live Recording Session on Saturday 7th May, is an amazing mix of genre in one show.
The Ray Butcher Band. Ray is an eclectic jazz trumpeter who has been influenced by many of the great trumpeters of the genre and played for well known US/UK artists such as Dr John, Mica Paris, Robbie Williams, Beverly Knight, Scott Matthews and Delirious frontman Martin Smith. Ray's own band, 'The Ray Butcher Band' has made appearances on comedies 'Very Important People' and 'The Morgana Show' (Channel 4). Ray also had extensive coverage on BBC1's period drama 'Landgirls'.
James Christy is a Preston singer/songwriter now residing in Manchester, UK. James songs are artfully and meticulously crafted, he combines high octane Pop with hints of Blues, Funk and Rock. Blending the nostalgic with the contemporary. Delivering tight rhythms that make it impossible not to stamp your feet or dance to. Throughout 2015 the band and James have played to sellout crowds at the Castle and Gullivers, Manchester whilst supporting Scruff of the Neck Records band Delemere at Academy 3, Manchester. Previously James has played all over the country from Cardiff to Edinburgh in front of diverse at numerous festivals and gigs, including Moho Live, Sound Control, Night and Day, Ruby Lounge, 02 Academy in Birmingham, Methusala Festival, Latitude Festival, Landed Festival, Headlander Festival, Apollo Theatre (Shaftesbury Avenue, West End, London) and at the Preston Guild Hall to name just a few. Live at Castle Rock Studios is James 4th record but the first one to be recorded live in a recording studio. Recorded at Castle Rock Studios in the heart of Cheshire, the EP will feature new songs plus a reworked favourite 'Lifting Me Up. It is out now on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. With a UK Tour and a brand new EP already planned for 2016. Big things are comingBeth Pryor mixes it up with her own songs, a refreshingly honest voice and a guitar delivering a swirl of reggae, soul and folk/pop. Russell Morgan an accomplished alternative, blues, soul, folk singer, guitarist and songwriter. His music blends traditional acoustic folk, blues, and soul and draws a wide audience from across the world.
These are limited audience gigs at Pigeon HQ and early booking is encouraged. Feel free to fetch your own refreshments. Doors open @ 7:30pm first act on at 8:00pm.
Access after 8:00pm will only be between acts due to the live recording.
