A bizarrely dark comedy, Rick Alverson's Entertainment follows an aging comedian as he drifts through the American Southwest, attempting to express himself through a series of dead-end shows, tourist attractions, and last-chance motels. As he moves across the country, his attempts at human connection are thwarted by his own alienating persona, and he chases the promise of a lucrative Hollywood gig and the potential of rekindling a relationship with his estranged daughter. Featuring appearances by names such as Tye Sheridan, John C. Reilly, and Michael Cera, Entertainment plays with the idea of the modern American male ego and the fragility at its core within this slow voyage across the American nowhere.
