Local Jazz Composer Showcase
Come out and hear the next generation of local jazz composers!  Four years ago, band leader Gus Kambeitz began the local composer showcase in collaboration with San Jose Jazz. The result: four successful concerts featuring your friends and neighbors, who are more talented than you think. The Tabard Theatre Company has stepped in to present the concert this season and to publicize the composer competition. Interested composers may submit no more than two original jazz compositions. These tunes, if not already orchestrated for jazz band, are turned into full-blown arrangements by "Nineteen Jazz Ensemble" and performed LIVE with the composers in attendance. Charts that are selected are made available to local schools and universities through Walrus Music, a jazz publishing house. The composers get the royalties!! This concert is your chance to hear new original jazzthe next big thing, before it IS a big thing!!
