Aymeric Dupré la Tour's Musical Bonbons at a Custom House Soiree
Custom House Maritime Museum
New London, CT

The New London Maritime Society (NLMS) announces a new series of concerts, Custom House Soirees, to be held concurrent with New London's  'Eat in the Street' summer events.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The first Soiree takes place Wednesday, June 2, when 'Eat in the Street' features the theme: candy. Inspired by the idea of addictive musical sweetness, pianist Aymeric Dupré la Tour is offering us a small plate of most scrumptious piano favorites. You will be able savor Liszt's "Liebestraum," Debussy's "Clair de Lune," Kreisler's indulging "Caprice Viennois," Gottschalk's delicious "Pensée Poétique," Scott Joplin's transporting "Mexican Serenade," and a spring evocation of the world's favorite "little sparrow" Edith Piaf with an improvisation on Guglielmi (Louiguy) "La vie en Rose."

Sit back an enjoy a mini-concert in a COVID-safe environment, all the while sipping wine & coffee, and sampling delicious bonbons. There will be two 45-minute concerts, scheduled at 7 & 8 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. The 8 o'clock concert ends just in time to catch the fireworks at 9 PM! Tickets are $35 each. Space is strictly limited.

French musician Aymeric Dupré la Tour studied piano and music theory at an early age at the National Conservatory of Lyon, his native town.  After both earth-science and organ-performance studies in Paris, he earned an Artist Diploma in organ and a Masters in historical performance at Oberlin College, OH, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Juilliard School, NY, where he studied harpsichord with Albert Fuller.  His concerts have taken him across France, the United States, Canada, and South America in venues such as Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall. Dupré la Tour settled in New England following fruitful collaborations with Richard Auber at Zuckermann Harpsichords, Stonington. In addition to an active career performing and recording on the harpsichord as a soloist or continuo player with ensembles such as Chamber Orchestra of New York and Connecticut Virtuosi, Dupré la Tour also works as an organist, choir director, pianist, vocal coach, and music director/arranger.
