Seattle BPP 3rd Film Festival Kick Off
The Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party celebrated the 50th Anniversary of its founding in 2018 with a yearlong schedule of events around the theme of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
This year, the committee is hosting its 3rd Film Festival in support of the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC) in the village of Imbaseni, Tanzania founded by former Panthers Pete and Charlotte Mama C ONeal. The UAACC is a center focusing on healing the community by providing a diverse array of free art, music, film and other classes to members of the community and is entirely run by local Tanzanians. The BPP 3rd Film Festival is part of the 24th Anniversary of the UAACC HEAL the COMMUNITY Spring TOUR 2020 in the United States and will feature Charlotte Hill ONeal, aka Mama C, writer/poet, visual artist, musician, healer, longtime community activist and Director of UAACC based in Tanzania, East Africa. The BPP 3rd Film Festival will have a Kick Off Event on Monday March 3rd 2020 from 7:30 9:30 at Arc Lodge Cinema in Colombia City featuring a performance by Mama C with selections from her latest CD followed by 2 films, WAREJEAJI: Those Who Have Returned and Mama C Urban Warrior. On March 4th and 5th 2020 from 7:30 -9:30 PM The BPP 3rd Film Festival continues at the North West Film Forum at 1515 12th Ave.
