Seattle Sucks presents CLASS OF 1999
At Kennedy High, in the heart of Seattles most dangerous free fire zone, teenage gangs battle it out for control of the school until the arrival of three mysterious new teachers. Now only a dollar store Haim/Feldman clone can unite the gangs and stop the teachers in this 1990 masterpiece about youth gone wild, Class of 1999.

Join your friends from the Seattle Sucks Podcast as we discuss this B-movie classic that was described by LA Times movie critic Kevin Thomas as uncomfortably close to the possible. Made at the height of the moral panic around youth crime when Oprah was warning her daytime TV audience that Kids are coming to school with uzis! Hiding guns in their underwear! Knives in their socks! Class of 1999 explores the anxiety around economic and social decline that defined America post 1970s.

Prior to the showing, the hosts of Seattle Sucks will discuss the films portrayal of Seattle as a post-industrial wasteland, explore its vision of criminal youth, and ask the critical question of why Seattle didnt turn out to be as cool as we thought it would be in 1990. During the showing you can make your own decision on who is worse to see a movie with, Greg or Brian. Afterwards, join your favorite podcasters for drinks and a hardy discussion about what big tech security solutions would work in our nations high schools.

Though the age of the super-predator never did materialize in the ways that John Dilulio, Hillary Clinton, or Director Mark Lester promised, Class of 1999 is a banger of a film. Seriously, Pam Grier and Malcolm McDowell are in it. Stacy Keach has unsettling bleach blond hair & albino eyes (at his insistence!) and provocatively eats a banana to intimidate his rivals. There is even a mystery drug called edge, so everyone is edging all of the time. Come join your friends from Seattle Sucks as we watch and discuss this masterpiece of B-movie cinema!
