Idaho Walk Bike Alliance, a Boise-based nonprofit, promotes active transportation as healthy, safe, and reliable for all Idahoans. As the only statewide advocacy group working to improve safety on roadways for all non-motorized users, it envisions an Idaho known for its active, vibrant, healthy and economically strong communities. With directors throughout the state, it works to ensure that towns, particularly rural ones, and locally-based bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations get the money, support and technical assistance they need to build and maintain great walking and biking networks. It also acts as a representative for the walking and bicycling community with the Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Legislature, and other stakeholders. The organization is currently pursuing a campaign to achieve dedicated state funding for Safe Routes to School.
