Africatown International is the global side of the Africatown Center for Education and Innovation (ACEI) headquartered in Seattle, Washington in the United States. The mission of the Africatown Center for Education & Innovation is to cultivate and promote innovative education enhancement and community development solutions focusing on people of African descent.
History & Background: ACEI was formed in 2013 by a group of concerned parents, veteran educators and community stakeholders to address the growing educational crisis of African American students within the Seattle Public School District. We envision a vibrant community of lifelong learners whose creativity, ingenuity, and 21st Century problem solving skills have a positive impact on Seattle and the global community.
ACEI is comprised of experienced African and African American educators, innovators, artists and professionals from various professions and community stakeholders that work together to address the growing educational, environmental and economic crisis facing people of the African Diaspora.
