Kent Roller Girls v London Rockin Rollers Double Header
On the 6th April, Kent Roller Girls will be taking on London Rockin Rollers at the Bay Sports Arena.
Roller derby is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, with new leagues forming all over the globe. A full-contact sport played on quad roller skates, this sport was revived in its current format in the 2000s, when a female-led grassroots movement of teams with a DIY ethos started appearing in the USA.
Moving away from its choreographed 1950's roots, this sport is seriously hard hitting and competitive, but still holds onto the DIY mentality, with leagues run 'by the skater, for the skater'.
Both Kent's A and B teams will be playing in this double header against the LRR's A and B teams - this should be a tough game for both teams, and an exciting double-header to watch!
