10th Annual Postcard Art Sale
Postcard Art is a gold rush style art sale of over 300 original paintings from local, regional, and nationally known artists. In addition to the paintings, works Outside the Box will be offered for sale, including jewelry, oversized paintings and art glass pieces. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover new artists, take home a great piece by a known artist and give new hope to underprivileged children through the arts.
It begins at 6:00pm with a cocktail hour and light hors d'ouevres. The art sale starts promptly at 7:00pm.
How it all works:
Step 1: Arrive and Register
Register for a bid number- you will receive numbered dots identifying your number.
Join the reception- eat, drink, and be merry!
At 6:55pm, a five minute warning will be called.
Step 2: Select Postcard Art
At 7:00pm, doors will open for patrons to rush in to select art.
To select your art, provide the attendant with one of your bid stickers and indicate which piece you are selecting. In exchange, the attendant will give you a corresponding art tag.
Quickly continue the selection process by providing bid stickers to attendants for each piece you would like to purchase.
**Important notes: Once you have selected a piece of art, it is yours and you are responsible for including it in your purchase when checking out (see below)! Art is sold on a first come, first served basis, so move quickly! In the event that two patrons arrive at one piece of art at the same time, each should provide one bid sticker to the attendant and an auction will be held later in the evening.
Step 3: Check Out
Once you have finalized your selections, take your art tags to the checkout lines to check out using cash, checks, or credit cards.
Step 4: Pick Up Your Art
When your selections have been paid for, you may return to the art attendants to pick up your art by providing the attendants your marked art tags. When you provide the tag, the attendant will give you the associated piece of art.
Step 5: Final Tasks
Take your art home, frame it, hang it, and enjoy it until next year, when you'll return with friends for more Postcard Art in February 2024. Many thanks from the Artists for Africa Board of Directors and the children whose lives are changed because of your continued support of Postcard Art.
