Switch Community,

The Summer is really heating up in Denver, and Hydrogen may be one of the hottest topics! Please join us 6:00pm Thursday, August 11th at 14er Brewery for Fuel SwitcH2 - a fun night of panels and discussions to really bond over. This will be a free event and will include a mix of panel discussions and networking breaks; plus an open bar for all guests!

With increasing pressure to decarbonize heavy industry and hard-to-abate sectors, hydrogen will be a key piece of our net-zero future. While this molecule isn't new to the energy industry, its means of clean production and versatile use have seen rapid momentum.

This evening will consist of (2) separate panels on hydrogen: one policy/market-focused and the other technology/application-focused. There will be Q&A sessions following each panel and dedicated networking periods to get into deeper discussion with both panelists and attendees!

The agenda:
6:00 - 6:30: Welcoming/Networking
6:30 - 7:15: Panel #1: Why Hydrogen - Comparison of Technologies
7:15 - 7:30: Intermission
7:30 - 8:15: Panel #2: Growing the Market - Priorities and Policy

The first panel of the night is titled Why Hydrogen - Comparison of Technologies, and will feature the following cast:

CTO - New Day Hydrogen

Brian DeBruine has a background in systems engineering and business development. He leads the non-profit Colorado Hydrogen Network which he co-founded in 2019. Nick Thornburg
Chemical Reaction Engineer - NREL

Nick Thornburg is a Chemical Reaction Engineer in the Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences at NREL. Nick originally joined NRELs National Bioenergy Center in April 2017, where he studied particle-scale reaction engineering and multiphase chemical reactor design and optimization for biomass deconstruction. Nicks current research interests lie in multiphase reaction engineering for onboard fuel reforming and emissions management applications and for the renewable synthesis of small-molecule chemicals and fuels, such as ammonia and hydrogen.

Here is the featured cast for the Growing the Market - Priorities and Policy panel:

Dan Esposito
Senior Policy Analyst - Energy Innovation

Dan works with legislators, regulators, and the media to design and communicate energy policies that most effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions. His recent research helps utility regulators understand the circumstances in which hydrogen may be appropriate for decarbonizing buildings and electricity. Dans experience spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including work at the White House, an energy markets and utilities consulting firm, and a utility consumer advocates office.

Jean Perarnaud
CEO - Tarafert

Jean is the CEO of Tarafert, a large green, blue ammonia and fertilizer plant developer in Mexico. For the past 20 years Jean has been active in the energy space, both conventional and renewables.
