Spindrift's Winter Show - "INTO THE WOODS Jr."
(Please read covid policies at bottom before ticket purchase)
Be careful what you wish for! This adaptation of Stephen Sondheims and James Lapines groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical features all of your favorite characters Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch, in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the Kings festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witchs curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.
Also reinforced is the verity that humans make mistakes, and mistakes are an integral part of our existence. In the end, we learn: hard to see the light now, just dont let it gothings will come out right now, we can make it so The world can be frightening and dangerous. It is also miraculous and hope-filled, and No one is alone a powerful and comforting assurance that audiences will remember, as they discuss their own woodland journeys on the way home from the performance.
