For The Love of Comics 10-12 yr old - ADDED CLASS
Wherever you are on your journey to loving, writing, reviewing, drawing or making comics, I will meet you there, give you a big high five, and clear the paths forward.
We will gather once per week at Walnut Park in downtown Petaluma. In good weather: at the picnic tables. In bad weather: at the gazebo.
We will draw together, enjoy comics together, write together, and make art together.
This is a place to come if you like drawing, or hanging out and talking comics.
No experience is necessary. Bring all your worries and fears, and we will shoo them away together.
If you have materials that you like to draw on and with - bring them.
If you don't have any materials, don't worry about it - I will have everything you need and you can use the materials I bring.
If you think you might like comics or cartoons, but don't read them or know anything about them I dont care. I only care that you might want to find a place to hang out and make art with groovy people.
Our primary mission with For The Love of Comics is to create a fear-free, supportive space for young people to make art, share art, and - if they want to - publish their art. This is the pick-up soccer game of art. This is the in-the-garage ping-pong tournament of art. This is the DIY lets-just-make-art-and-treat-each-other-well place to make art and treat people well.
Let's make the place for making art that we all want to exist. We'll start in the park. It will be lovely.
