Nashville Fermentation Fest: Sourdough Workshop | Fermenting Flour for Flavor with Kathleen Turchi
In this four-hour hands-on workshop, students will learn the basic properties of wild yeast and how to mix, shape, proof, and bake two naturally-leavened sourdough breads at home -- a focaccia and a sourdough loaf. Breakfast and coffee provided. Taught by baker Kathleen Turchi.
*This event is a part of the Nashville Fermentation Fest: A Month of Microbial Celebrations. Join us every Tuesday for a special Fermentation Marketplace at the East Nashville Farmers Market. Ticketed classes and workshops available, taught by one of our fermenting experts. Register to learn about everything from sourdough basics to sausage-making and curing. We're even hosting a special vegetable fermentation class taught by fermentation revivalist Sandor Katz.
*Register now for "Fermentation Journeys: An Evening with Sandor Katz," to hear the author speak about his latest book and answer all your fermenting queries. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages provided.
