Natural Color Explorations FALL 2021
In this series of 10 art classes this fall, kids will learn to make natural colors from simple kitchen ingredients and use them to create beautiful nature-inspired watercolor paintings.
What you will Learn:
- Making natural colors from simple kitchen ingredients including kitchen waste
- Identifying good/bad sources of color especially for use in paintings
- How to derive multiple colors from the same color-source
- Constraints of natural colors and tips to work around them to create stunning visual art
- Practical tips to build a harmonious color palette
- Practical tips to store and use natural colors
- The chemistry of colors
- Basic watercolor techniques
- Apply the colors you have made to create 10 beautiful nature inspired watercolor paintings
Note: This is not a course on Lake Pigments. We will be working directly with natural dyes.
Who this course is for:
- This course is designed for kids ages 4+ to do along with their parents
- Perfect for parents looking for a fun parent and me class to learn a new skill together
- Anyone who wants to take the first step towards learning about natural dyes
- Students interested in learning watercolor techniques in painting
How the class works:
- A week before every class you will get the ingredient list (mostly things you will easily find in your kitchen) and a step- by-step instruction video for drawing the composition
- Bring your drawing to class
- During the 1 hour live class every week, we will concentrate on natural color making and painting
- Ongoing support and feedback on WhatsApp group
Dates (Fall Term 2021): 10 Saturdays in Sept, Oct and Nov (Long weekends excluded)
Timings: Saturday, 11AM to 12PM, PST
Fee: $200 (for the entire 10-week program)
Mode of teaching: Live online classes on Zoom
