DRAW: Lost in Line
In this session, Jenny will take you through a series of drawing activities where, working from observation, you will not only hone your looking skills, but will also experiment with different ways to make marks. Through varying the weight, the speed and the texture of your lines and exploring different ways to hold your pencil, your drawings will develop an energy and become an expression of you as well as what you are looking at. The focus is on the absorbing process of drawing and the sheer enjoyment of making marks.
You will need:
At least one pencil. If you have softer and harder ones then bring those too. A sharpener A rubber Paper: several sheets of A4 or A3 Space to work: table top or drawing board Something interesting to look at: plant and flower forms are great for these exercises.
Drawing is an all-consuming process that can take us elsewhere. Bringing together her own drawing practice, her teaching expertise and a belief that drawing makes us feel better, Jenny Purrett has created this one hour drawing experience which is designed to not only give you skills and confidence in observational pencil drawing, but also a sense of wellbeing. The sessions are aimed at anyone who wants to develop their drawing skills: whether you are a beginner or a more experienced artist.
