Earth Week 2021 Celebration for the Planet!
This year we are pleased to honor three individual allies and one organization who have been working tirelessly with us to stop climate change alongside 350 Bay Area and 350 Bay Area Action over many years.

To round out our time together, each of our honorees will lead a breakout session on a topic that they are passionate about:

- Outstanding Climate Activist: Wei-Tai Kwok, co-founder of the Bay Area Chapter of the Climate Reality Project and mentor to many new climate activists.  Breakout topic:  How can individuals help solve the climate crisis?

- Partner Organization:  Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) is one of the preeminent environmental justice organizations in the U.S. Their mission is to build peoples power in Californias communities of color and low income communities to achieve environmental health and justice by preventing and reducing pollution and building green, healthy and sustainable communities and environments.  CBE Richmond Organizer, Andres Soto will accept the award on behalf of CBE.  Breakout topic: Getting the Air District to protect community health from Chevron's emissions.

- Governmental policy maker:  Eduardo Martinez, City Council Member, City of Richmond. Leader in campaigns to stop coal exports from Richmond, to hold Chevron and other corporations accountable for their pollution, and to plan for a just transition and decommissioning of the Chevron and other refineries in the Bay Area.  Breakout session:  How do we develop a legislative program to implement a just transition?

- Youth Climate Activist:  Isha Clarke is one of the founding members of Youth vs. Apocalypse (YVA), a frontline youth-led climate justice organization based in the Bay Area.  Isha was involved in organizing one of the largest climate strikes in the U.S. with Youth vs. Apocalypse, and continues to work with YVA to support campaigns, build local and national coalitions, train new youth activists, and speak truth to power in (virtual) public space.  Breakout topic:  Radical youth organizing amid multiple crises!

Although we cant party with you in person, we look forward to connecting online at this happy hour-timed event. Come early for a dance party, bring your favorite snacks and drinks and get excited to celebrate what we and our closest allies accomplished in the past year!
