Containment
The Labyrinth of Containment
- our life in boxes -

We build mazes around ourselves.  Physical manifestations of memory are brazenly displayed around our living spaces or tucked into drawers. Emotions are compartmentalized into objects that guide us unconsciously. At transitional moments of life we evaluate the hold of these things we collect.

For some it is easy to let go.
...for others it can be difficult.

Speaking broadly but not exclusively to the recent worldwide experience of containment comes a very personal and intimate exhibition of this life compartmentalization we perform. This is about emotional hoarding, holding on and moving on, simultaneously being stuck and being free, life essentials, and the complicating affect upon us of the things we keep.

MORE DETAILS

Covid and ticketing:

Due to Covid we ask that you register your attendance on Brown PaperTickets. The tickets are broken down into time slots of no more than 10 people to tour the exhibit during that time.

Each registration is for two people: you and a plus one. This is to encourage you to bring a friend to enjoy your time in compartmentalization together.

Groups:

If you would like to reserve an entire slot for your quarantine group, there are a few ways to go about this. You can reserve yours and have your crew also register in the same time slot or you can reserve the entire time slot if you are confident you can fill the 10 spaces with your group. If the time slot you want has only a few registrations, message us with your intentions and we may be able to work things out on our end.

Singles:

Singles do not need to register. They can arrive at the start of a time slot round and be fitted into open spaces if there are any.

Returning Visitors:

Visitors who have visited the exhibit already are allowed to return at no additional cost. Donations, however are always appreciated. We would still like you, however, to register your attendance for our scheduling purposes.

Safety:

The maze will be cleaned with aerosols every 15 minutes before the next group enters.

In addition we will have adequate ventilation and air flow using fans and filters. The windows will be open despite the temperature so dress accordingly.

More enclosed areas will have a personal air filter. Some spaces may require you to use a disposable masks and gloves that we will provide to enter.

Schedule and Pricing:

Each showing will be an individual and unique experience. The Opening (Nov 27) and Closing (Dec 26) are donation based although we suggest a 10$ donation per person (20$ per couple).

Saturday attendees on Opening Weekend can use the code southmorehouse to also receive a pay-what-you-want scale or the ability to donate at the door. Again, we suggest 10$ per person (20$ per couple).

The remainder of the days will feature many surprise performances, as will the Opening Weekend and Closing Ceremony. These will be 20$ per couple and also need to be registered.
