Newtown Historic Association presents: VOTES For WOMEN! Alisa Dupuy Portrays Alice Paul
Join us on Sunday, March 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Half Moon Inn to see Alisa Dupuy, of the Ladies of History, portray the noted suffragette, Alice Paul. Alice Paul was a local Quaker and activist for the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U. S. Constitution to prohibit sex discrimination and the right to vote.
In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the passage of that amendment, Alice Paul will tell her story and the story of the struggles that she and others endured to secure the right to vote for women. After the performance, Alisa will answer your questions and refreshments will be served.
