TAKEOVER! Closing Weekend Concert: Winston Irie & Selective Security Band!

It may be the closing weekend of TAKEOVER! 2020, but everything is gonna be irie when Reggae favorite Winston Irie and Selective Security Band return to SAC to soften the blow with their cool vibes. A staple on the reggae scene, Winston (Irie) Sumner has performed or shared a concert bill with Lenny Kravitz, A Tribe Called Quest, Richie Havens and others. He has also opened for Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, and King Yellowman, to name a few. Named one of the 8 most influential local music stars by Hamptons Magazine, Irie, originally from Guyana, came to the Hamptons in 1993 and fell in love with the "island vibe", which reminded him of home.
When Im out here, its not about me, Irie says. Its all about the people. Its why hes known for adapting his shows and the bands lineup of percussion, African drums, bass, and guitar players from one venue to another. As a result, he has never played the same show twice.
