WJFF Movies & Music - Stop Making Sense - By Jonathan Demme & Talking Heads
WJFF Movies & Music Presents
Stop Making Sense

The Callicoon Theater
30 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, NY 12723

$10 Ticket includes Afterparty at The Raleigh
19 Lower Main Street, Callicoon, NY 12723

By popular demand, WJFF's Movies & Music series returns with a trip to the 80's as David Byrne and Talking Heads are captured in their prime by brilliant rock & roll director Jonathan Demme in the groundbreaking Stop Making Sense

It's all there - the quirky motions, poetically surreal lyrics, the driving basslines and of course a tremendously big white suit. Drawing from the rise of performance art, along with the work of 80's art stars such as painter Robert Longo and dancer Karole Armitage and the punk rock sensibilities of the legendary club CBGBs, Talking Heads' work remains modern, relevant and irresistibly danceable.

Wikipedia  tells us "The film has been hailed by Leonard Maltin as "one of the greatest rock movies ever made", and "the finest concert film" according to Robert Christgau, while Pauline Kael of The New Yorker described it as "close to perfection". Good enough for us.

Your $10 ticket include the film screening at 7pm, then an afterparty at The Raleigh, with your first beer courtesy of Catskill Brewery .
