Mixing Herbal Tea Blends
This hands-on evening workshop will be an exploration into different flavors and scents of common western herbs that can be mixed into various flavorful, medicinal tea blends. Each person will have the opportunity to mix their own tea blend in class with the herbs available.
Here are some of the things we'll go over in class: - balancing drying herbs with moistening herbs - balancing poor tasting herbs with tasty ones - how to decide what ratios to use - deciding what herbs to use when dealing with a specific health issue
Some of the herbs we'll be working with: elderflower, chamomile, linden, lemon balm, licorice, fennel, ginger, orange peel, cinnamon, peppermint, yarrow, hawthorn, marshmallow root and more.
This is a hands on class, so come ready to help out, measure, pour and wash. Bring an apron, a pen and something to take notes on to recall the knowledge you gain at a later time. I'll provide a handout.
