WILD WIDOW POKER
Grand View Theatre Arts, in collaboration with Pyramid Theatre Company, is proud to present the premier production of Wild Widow Poker, written by Grand View Universitys own Dr. Andrea J. Wilson. This thought-provoking exploration of the Civil Rights Movement from the lens of wealthy African Americans is an unique experience you will not want to miss!
Chicago, 1963. As four women gather regularly to work on their poker faces and enjoy benefits of being members of an elite, black-owned, country club, the world around them grapples with the legality of segregation. Although Bombingham, Alabama is over six hundred miles away, the impact its of race relations, is far reaching, forcing even affluent Northerners to ask themselves, when do you decide to do something courageous?
