The Southwest Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) is proud to have award winning, Master Designer Rene Van Rems present at our upcoming show.
Whether you're just starting a floral designer career, enjoy it as a hobby or make it your life; this event is for everyone!
BE INSPIRIED WITH RENE VAN REMS AIFD
We are pleased to have Rene present at our show and bring fresh new design ideas for wedding bouquets and decor. He will be discussing the resurgence of classically inspired designs, and his famous hand-tied bouquets along with many tips and tricks. Learn from Rene how to wow the bride with less work, less stress and less effort!
WEARABLE FLORAL COMPETITION WITH CASH PRIZES!
Do you like to make sparkly prom corsages, boutonnieres or artistic floral cuffs? Maybe a sexy shoulder piece, or an enchanting floral crown is more your style. Show off your skills and creativity by entering a wearable floral art piece! There is no additional cost to enter, so join in the fun!
There is a $100 award for Best in Show (voted by AIFD Board members) and $100 award for Peoples Choice (voted by attendees)
**We will ONLY be accepting entries between 5-5:30pm. Entries will need to be brought already made. You MUST be present to win. **
FLOWER BAR- CREATE YOUR OWN WEARABLE PIECE
There will be a hosted flower bar setup with all the supplies and flowers you need to create a piece to wear that evening and to take home to enjoy later. We will provide snips, scissors, wire cutters/pliers however, if you've got your favorite tools, feel free to bring them!
**These pieces are not for entry into the competition**
SHOPPING and SILENT AUCTION
We will have a silent auction table with to proceeds going to our Southwest Chapter. Floral Supply Syndicate will also be open for supply shopping during the evening.
Evening schedule:
5:00pm- 5:30pm- Entries for wearable floral competition will be accepted between 5 and 5:30pm. PLEASE BE ON TIME!!
5:30pm - 6:15pm- Voting of floral pieces for competition by judges and you!
5:00pm- 6:15pm- Light bites and beverages will be served while you shop, make bids at the silent auction table, make a wearable floral piece for fun, vote for your favorite floral competition piece AND hangout with your flower friends.
6:30pm- 7:30pm- Main presentation with Rene Van Rems AIFD
7:45-8:30pm- Silent Auction, Competition Awards presentation and Book signing with Rene
