Event

HBHS Performing Arts Presents: Awaaz Do
Over the years, the HBHS Performing Arts has proudly facilitated and hosted student-centered seminars and performances by world renown musicians including Felix Pastorius & The Hipster Assassins, Delfeayo Marsalis, and Sandip Burman.

For 2020, our tradition of producing unique and empowering events for our students continues in an unbelievably exciting manner, as we welcome to the HBHS Community Auditorium the "un-box-able" sound of the 6 piece, sometimes-surf rock, sometimes honky-tonk, sometimes theater, all time punk rock, Awaaz Do!

After a full day with our Band, Choir, Guitar Night Club, and HERStory Club students in specialty seminars including vocal loop composition, Hindustani vocal technique and beat cycles, HERstory of Rock, Guitar Around the Globe, and more, the band will present a full show on the HB stage at 7 PM!

Come a bit early at 6:30 PM to check out our HBHS music students open before the headliners!

For more about the band, please check out their website below, as well as their media pages on Facebook, Bandcamp, and streaming on Spotify.

From http://www.awaazdo.band/bio

Awaaz Do (est. 2013) came from the docks of Charlestown, Massachusetts, USA. The band draws on South Asian sonic traditions, instrumentation and languages to create its singular, un-box-in-able sound.

Awaaz Do has performed on local, festival and museum stages in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, DC and Philadelphia, written commissioned work for the theater, released two studio albums, and received an Iguana Music Fund grant in 2016 to record.
