Freedom Seekers: Underground Railroad Tour
Pittsburgh was an important stop for hundreds of freedom-seeking slaves heading North in the years before the Civil War.
Learn about and explore the clandestine network of safe houses and sympathizers created by prominent city leaders, both Black and white, functioned as Pittsburgh's Underground Railroad.
Locations visited during the tour: Bigham House, Morning Glory Inn, Dollar Savings Bank, and the Original Oyster House.

BUS # 1 --- 9:00am-1:15pm / Bigham House-Morning Glory Inn--Oyster House--Dollar Bank--tour concludes at 340 Fourth Ave
BUS # 2 --- 9:00am-1:15pm / Morning Glory Inn--Bigham House--Dollar Bank--Oyster House--tour concludes at Market Square
BUS # 3 --- 9:15am-1:30pm / Dollar Bank--Oyster House--Morning Glory Inn--Bigham House--return to 340 Fourth Ave
BUS # 4 --- 9:15am-1:30pm / Oyster House--Dollar Bank--Bigham--Morning Glory Inn --return to 340 Fourth Ave
Each tour itineraries start PROMPTLY at Market Square, Center Courtyard. Check your start time!
Tour will conclude at/near the Market Square or 340 Fourth Ave (one block off Market Square)

Ticket sales close at 9:00am on Thursday, February 27th.
The bus, and many of the tour stops are not wheelchair accessible.
Restrooms will be available at 1-2 stops.
We will have 40-45 minutes at each stop.
