The Rural Justice Summit, which will always be free for community participation, opens channels of communication between researchers, community members, advocates and organizers-- about historic and current struggles for access to resources in the Central Valley.
We are a constellation of artists, organizers, activists, researchers, and accomplices who imagine a radical realignment of rural life that moves us towards equity, access, participation and rights for all rural people. We believe that this necessitates an equitable redistribution of resources that prioritizes the lives and well being of rural residents, especially the lives of systematically oppressed communities.
This year Network Gathering spaces and Workshops will host critical conversations and be offered alongside speakers, performances, and delicious food.
Network Gathering spaces will be created by and for: -Art-ivists -Youth Organizers -Researchers -Farmer Justice
Workshops will be facilitated by leaders from: -Central Valley Freedom Summer -Central Valley Partnership -ICE Out of Merced -El Quinto Sol de America -California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance -Central Valley Journey for Justice -Central California Environmental Justice Network -Barrios Unidos of Fresno -Central Valley Movement Coalition
March 14th, SATURDAY will be held at the Merced Multi-Cultural Arts Center and feature artists, musicians, dancers, artisan and food vendors, childrens' Pop-Up Playground, and a Healing Clinic.
