LEATHER MASK MAKING WORKSHOP
Northwest Puppet Center is proud to host Pepper Kaminoff with a very special intensive mask making workshop. Please note, this course has two sessions and participants will need to attend both days.
SUNDAY 12/15 3PM-6PM SUNDAY 12/22 3PM-6PM
Pepper traveled the world as a professional clown and acrobat, including a year with Ringling Brothers and an award winning tour to the International Street Artist Festival in Japan! During his travels, he also began learning the craft of leather commedia dell'arte masks, a technique which began Italy in the 1500s.
Making masks for many years now, Pepper's work has been seen on many stages and his neutral masks are frequently used in masterclasses by Arne Zaslove, the first American to study with Jacques Lecoq!
Now you have the chance to make your own leather mask with Pepper's guidance! Participants can select from a neutral mask or Arlecchino, the famous commedia clown of Bergamo!
All tools and supplies will be provided. No previous experience necessary. This workshop is intended for adults due to some use of sharp tools and necessity to focus for several hours. Exceptions may be possible for younger folks interested in participating but parent or guardian must accompany. Thank you!
